We in the Atlanta area have a true smorgasbord of leagues and tennis activities for those who wish to take advantage. Largest is ALTA, with its format of 5 lines of doubles; Next is USTA with a format of 2 singles and 3 doubles lines. USTA Combo leagues play in the Spring (Men's and Women's Doubles) and Fall (Mixed). For players interested in singles, USTA, KSwiss (flexible individual singles with a unique rating system) Visionary Tennis and Peach Tennis are offered. T2 tennis (flexible individual doubles teams, you pick your own partner and play all season, competing at USTA levels). Last but not least, there is World Team Tennis, which is unique in that it has all types of tennis in one match (M&W singles and Doubles, as well as a line of Mixed.
