Family Day for Tennis 2003
Saturday, August 2, 2003, was the second Family Day for Tennis.
We had a good turnout, and I think there was a lot of enthusiasm.
Food, plenty of fun, and a party atmosphere made for
a good time. Gerry spent time teaching kids more about playing
tennis. Next time, you all come, too. Don't forget your smile!
We
had a few folks who came over to play before the HITS (Hockey
in the Streets) began. These two events seem to
go hand in hand.
The finalists in the round robin were Kelly Sweet/Sharon Mulkey and Bob Gossman/Stacy White. The winners, Bob and Stacy received a free 1/2 hour lesson and Sharon received a cooler.
I'd like to thank our sponsor, Callaway Blue, for providing water for the players. Callaway Blue also donated water for the Tournament in June. Thanks also to Publix, who provided the ice.
In addition, thanks to Rob, Bob, Stacey and Danny, who installed the new net on court 9. It was definitely appreciated.
